The Brazilian defender saved the Gunners from dropping points in their fourth Premier League game of the season.

Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes atoned for a costly error he committed earlier by scoring the all important winner for the Gunners in Saturday's clash with Fulham. The 24-year-old Brazilian centre-back's mistake had allowed Fulham to take the lead but had his moment of vindication with his late strike securing a 2-1 win for Mikel Arterta's side at the Emirates.

Going into their fourth Premier League fixture of the new season Arsenal remained the only side in the competition to have registered three wins out of three. However, they were forced to alter their winning formula after it became apparent that both Thomas Partey and Oleksandr Zinchenko will miss the local derby through injury. Kieran Tierney and Mohamed Elneny eventually took theit place in the starting lineup.

Following an uneventful first half, Arsenal were given a tall mountain to climb in the 56th minute following an error in defense. Gabriel was caught on the ball on the edge of his own box and eventually lost possession to the in-form Aleksandar Mitrovic who put the visitors in front against the run of play.

Eight minutes later parity was restored by the hosts, with Bukayo Saka's pass deflecting off Martin Odegaard. In the 85th minute, Gabriel kept the Gunners' winning start intact by poking the ball home from a few yards out after Bernd Leno had failed to properly deal with a corner. Watch:

With the result, Arsenal retained their status as league leaders with 12 points ahead of the midweek's meeting with Aston Villa.
