Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has indicated that Bernardo Silva could leave the club to join Barcelona before this summer's transfer window closes. The Spanish coach has admitted that the Portuguese playmaker "really likes" Barcelona amid latest interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
Bernardo Silva still remains a key member at Man City but despite his importance to the Premier League champions, his future currently remains uncertain. The Portuguese star has been linked with a move to Camp Nou all summer, and while no concrete move has been made by the Blaugrana, all the parties involved are aware of the interest.
With the La Liga transfer window set to close on September 1, the expectation is that Barca will look to begin negotiations for the midfielder despite their financial situation. Following Wednesday night's 3-3 draw in the special friendly charity game organized by former Barça player and coach Juan Carlos Unzué to raise funds for ALS research, Guardiola addressed the rumors surroundinf Bernardo Silva's future.
"We want Bernardo Silva with us but I don't want anyone to be unhappy here,".
"The first thing would be for the two clubs to come to an agreement - then of course, I want him in my team. It's true that Bernardo Silva really likes FC Barcelona."
Guardiola's comments came after Barca headcoach Xavi Hernandez expressed his fondness for the Portuguese star. He said: "I love Bernardo as a player.
"He understands everything and has an amazing ability to make decisions. He's a very important player for Pep and he makes the difference on the pitch."

Earlier, Manchester City CEO Ferran Soriano addressed Bernardo Silva's outgoing rumors, stating that it was a little late to discuss his departure. In an interview with Spanish TV channel TV3, he reiterated the club's stance, saying: "There are no discussions or talks for Bernardo Silva. There's no Bernardo case.
"Manchester City market can be considered closed, it's over".
With the uncertainty regarding Bernardo Silva's future still boiling over, French publication L'Equipe has revealed that Paris Saint-Germain are ready to make a swoop for the former AS Monaco star. According to the report, an offer of $70M will be tabled by the French champions to test the resolve of Manchester City in the coming hours.
