What were Manchester City’s Samir Nasri and Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge up to last weekend? The two football stars attended the UK tour of Canadian rapper Drake.
For both, that was certainly a great way to celebrate the Citizens’ 5-0 demolition of Fulham and the Reds’ entertaining 6-3 triumph away to Cardiff. And Drake’s concert at the Liverpool Echo Arena apparently served as more motivation for Nasri and Sturridge.
On Wednesday, the latter netted a terrific goal to inspire Liverpool to a 2-1 victory at home to Sunderland. The Merseyside Reds are now second in the table with 68 points, only one behind current league leaders Chelsea.
Manchester City, however, could overtake both at the top of the standings. The Citizens, fresh from trouncing neighbours Manchester United 3-0 on Tuesday, have two games in hands over the pair and already count 66 points.

Sturridge and Nasri are in for an intense weekend as Liverpool will host Tottenham Hotspur while Manchester City will travel to London to face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
