Top games to watch on Matchday 2 in the Bundesliga

Freiburg vs Dortmund: The first game of this round will be nothing short of exciting as Dortmund travel to a tricky Freiburg side to kick off Matchday 2. Last season, the hosts finished sixth in the season and made it all the way to the DFB Pokal final, showing their current quality under the long-serving Christian Streich. Breisgau-Brasilianer also head into this fixture on the back of a convincing victory, beating Augsburg 4-0 in their opening game of the 2022/23 season.

As for Bellingham and Co., they will look to go a step further after finishing as runners-up last term. BVB took on Leverkusen in the previous round and emerged from that difficult fixture with a 1-0 win, with Marco Reus netting the only goal of the day. Unfortunately for Edin Terzić's side, another tough match-up is on the way. Don't miss this clash.

Leverkusen vs Augsburg: Two teams that endured disappointing starts to the campaign face off as Leverkusen host Augsburg as they go in search of their first win of the season. Die Werkself, as mentioned earlier, suffered a defeat in the opening round, losing 1-0 to Dortmund despite enjoying more possession than their opposition. Will Gerardo Seoane's suffer a second consecutive loss?

Augsburg will be hoping so after their opening day embarrassment. The visitors were thrashed by Freiburg last weekend, and as a result, they sit second bottom from the table due to their horrible goal difference. The season is early, but back-to-back defeats would be the worst possible start for Fuggerstädter.

Bayern Munich vs Wolfsburg: The Bavarians continue their title defense this weekend as Nagelsmann's side look to maintain their brilliant start to the campaign. Despite losing Robert Lewandowski, Bayern Munich have kicked off the season in amazing fashion, first thrashing RB Leipzig in the DFL Supercup before beating Eintracht Frankfurt 6-1 last Friday. Next up for Gnabry and Co. is a clash with a team that finished mid-table last term.

The visitors will be in for a rough ride after witnessing the dismantling of UEFA Europa League holders Eintracht Frankfurt. Wolfsburg picked up a point in their opening fixture, drawing 2-2 with Werder Bremen. Niko Kovas is currently in charge of Die Wölfe and will be returning to the Allianz Arena, having endured a rough spell as Bayern Munich boss in 2019/20. Make sure to catch the action live.
