MLS All-Stars vs Liga MX All-Stars - How to watch the MLS All-Star Game

August 10, 2022 By Oscar Rojas
The second clash of this sort between the finest Liga MX and MLS players is set to go down tonight. Keep track of the match with this guide.

The time has come for the best of the best in the MLS to face their Liga MX counterparts in the 2022 edition of the MLS All-Star Game.

The 26th edition of this clash will continue the trend set last year, when the Liga MX All Stars were invited to play this clash in an attempt to bring more fans to local stadiums. The idea worked out just fine for the MLS, who won last year's game after a grueling penalty shootout, where three Liga MX footballers missed their spot kicks to give the MLS a well deserved victory, where Matt Turner was named the MVP of the match.

This year's match will bring a host of new faces on both sides of the pitch, but there will be some familiar faces for both squads. For the hosts, players such as Chicharito, Carlos Vela, and Raúl Ruidiaz have Liga MX experience. On the other hand, Uriel Antuna will put to good use his experience as an MLS footballer in the past.

MLS All-Star Squad

The MLS All-Star Squad had to make a couple of changes due to last minute changes. Striker Brandon Vázquez was brought in to replace Valentín Castellanos, who completed a move to La Liga prior to the game, and defender Jakob Glesnes was also added to the roster to fill in for Alexander Callens.

Here's the MLS' All-Star team.

Goalkeepers: Dayne St. Clair, Sean Johnson, Andre Blake.

Defenders: Walker Zimmerman, Kai Wagner, Diego Palacios, Kamal Miller, Aaron Long, Jakob Glesnes, Julián Araujo.

Midfielders: Ilie Sánchez, Emanuel Reynoso, Darlington Nagbe, Hany Mukhtar, Carles Gil, Sebastían Driussi, Luciano Acosta.

Strikers: Carlos Vela, Javier Hernández, Raúl Ruidiaz, Jordan Morris, Taxi Fountas, Jesús Ferreira, Paul Arriola, Brandon Vázquez.

Liga MX Team

The team representing the Mexican top-flight was chosen via the Golden Ball ceremony and its nominees, but there were some changes to the initial roster. Matheus Doria, Diego Barbosa, Jordan Carrillo, and Ángel Mena left the team due to a number of reasons, leaving Juan Escobar, Guido Pizarro, Luis Quiñones, and Víctor Guzmán as their replacements.

Here are the men that will represent Liga MX this evening.

Goalkeepers: Camilo Vargas, Oscar Ustari, Carlos Acevedo.

Defenders: Jesús Angulo, Lisandro López, Gustavo Cabral, Juan Escobar, Hugo Nervo, Brayan Angulo, Luis Reyes, Kevin Álvarez.

Midfielders: Guido Pizarro, Julián Quiñones, Luis Quiñones, Víctor Guzmán, Luis Chávez, Érik Lira, Fernando Beltrán, Álvaro Fidalgo, Avilés Hurtado, Alexis Vega, Aldo Rocha.

Strikers: Heriberto Jurado, Julio Furch, Juan Dinenno, Germán Berterame, Uriel Antuna.
