Galatasaray manager Roberto Mancini has stated that he and Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho are not friends. The Italian manager had even gone on to also claiming that the Portuguese manager doesn't want to have friends. These comments of the Italian come ahead of Cheslea and Galatasaray’s clash in the Champions League round 16 match in the Stamford Bridge this Tuesday.
This is yet another edition of the Mourinho-Mancini war of words, one that has been going on since Mancini claimed he built the Inter Milan team that Mourinho won the treble with. That comment did not settle well with the current Chelsea boss and the two have been going at each other ever since.
“In Istanbul we saw each other and only said 'hello',” said Mancini. “We certainly aren't friends.”
“I don't think Mourinho wants to have friends, or maybe that's just the way he likes to appear."
In reference to the initial comments that sparked everything, Mancini said: “I said some perfectly normal things, but someone stirred it up into controversy and he really did get offended.”
Will Jose Mourinho respond to the Italian’s recent comments? We will have to wait and see.
