Watch: Lewandowski trolled by Bayern fans after visiting the Bundesliga champions for final farewell

August 2, 2022 By Ali M.
The Polish striker was teased by the Allianz Arena supporters upon returning to the club to bid an official goodbye.

Robert Lewandowski might have left Bayern Munich roughly two weeks ago to join Barcelona, but the Polish striker made a return to his former club in order to bid a formal farewell.

The 33-year-old superstar visited both the Allianz Arena and Säbener Straße to say his goodbyes to his now former teammates as well as the club employees. Additionally, the Camp Nou ace also posed for pictures at the Bavarians' trophy cabinet, celebrating his successful spell with the German giants.

And while Lewandowski's service will always be appreciated, having led the club to an impressive treble in 2020, he wasn't immune to trolling from the Bayern Munich fans when leaving the area. A video has now gone viral in which the Polish ace is teased as he makes his way out of the club's training ground.

Cameras were on the scene, as well as Bayern Munich fans, in order to get one last glimpse of Lewandowski before he heads over the Catalonia. However, Robert was not met with "we love you" or "we will miss you" cries. Instead, "Hala Madrid" chants could be heard directed at the striker. Check it out in the video below.

Nonetheless, Lewandowski had nothing but positive things to say about his time with the Bundesliga champions, having won 19 titles during his time at the Allianz Arena, and spoke highly of the Allianz Arena faithful.

"It was sad. I'll always be grateful for what I've won and experienced here. I thanked everyone for what they did for me and gave them gifts. It was an emotional and difficult moment for me," the no.9 told Sky Sport Germany on his way out.

"The fans have always been very important to me. I would like to thank them for their support and everything we have experienced together. Bayern fans will remain in my heart forever - I will never forget that," the player also added.

Lewandowski will now shift focus to the upcoming La Liga season with only one goal being on his mind: wrestling the league crown back from Real Madrid. The striker is one of many exciting additions Laporta and Co. have made this summer and will aim to guide the Blaugrana back to domestic and European glory after a rough 2021/22 campaign.
