It has been a tough season for both Manchester United and striker Robin Van Persie.
The Dutch international enjoyed a fantastic debut with his new club last season as the Red Devils claimed the Premier League title and on a personal level, won the Golden Boot for his second consecutive season.
However, this year, under new manager David Moyes, both the club and player have struggled to replicate the same form. Well off the title race, their Champions League campaign in danger and European football not a guarantee, the rumblings have been ongoing of RVP's reported growing frustration with his tenure at Old Trafford.
Hence, both the club and player have been quick to downplay any sort of friction, as seen via Manchester United's official Twitter account:
All's good? Manchester United and RVP have both come out to show that everything is fine...
.@Persie_Official says: “I signed for four years and I’d be delighted to stay even longer. I’m happy with my team-mates and my manager.”

He even goes on to apparently praise Moyes, with whom reports claimed that he had a contentious relationship with:
More from Robin: “Moyes’ sessions and the things he says in his team meetings are spot-on. I really enjoy working under him.”

Well, despite the apparent love-fest between player and club, fans were not so convinced. Perhaps it remains to be seen as to what transpires in a few months...
