The Blaugrana side seem to have earmarked their next transfer target, but some of their fans may have something to say about that move.

Whoever thinks that Real Madrid and Barcelona fans like to watch their former players joining their bitter rivals knows nothing about football, and this potential move by Los Culés is set to raise a few eyebrows.

According to reports by Spanish newspaper As, the Blaugrana side is expected to hire another left back to keep adding players to their roster. With their options to sign Marcos Alonso getting lower with each passing minute, the team has reportedly activated Plan B, which would see them hiring former Real Madrid player Sergio Reguilón.

The footballer, currently playing for Tottenham, has been shown the exit door by coach Antonio Conte. Moreover, Reguilón would have to beat three more players to earn a starting spot, which has seen him ask his agent for other employment opportunities.

The report by the Spanish newspaper states that player agent Kia Joorabchian had dinner with Barcelona execs Jordi Cruyff and Mateu Alemany, where the executives for the Catalan club revealed their intentions to sign Reguilón if their attempts to hire Marcos Alonso failed.

Since Alonso's move away from Stamford Bridge is virtually impossible, the Blaugrana side is ready to enter negotiations with Tottenham. The report states that Barcelona would consider three scenarios: permanent deal, a loan, or a loan with a mandatory buyout clause. Tottenham's asking price for the player would be around $25M, but with three more left backs in their roster, Reguilón's price could go down in coming weeks.

Now, with Tottenham open to let the player go, the only setback to complete this deal would be Real Madrid. Los Merengues included a clause in Reguilón's transfer to Tottenham where they could buy back the footballer without any questions if they matched the bid submitted by another club. Needless to say, it will be quite interesting to see if the Spanish capital giants decide to execute that clause just to deny Los Culés the chance to hire the talented player.
