The footballer left Los Blancos after an unsuccessful spell, where he managed to score only three times in 51 games.

Carlo Ancelotti was known last year as Real Madrid boss for choosing not to change his team that much during the course of the campaign, and that stance has seemingly earned him an "enemy" in a former footballer.

Speaking in an interview with DAZN, former Los Blancos player Luka Jovic did not hold back about his current stint with Fiorentina, where he has scored more goals (5) than those he did with Real Madrid. While doing so, the Serbian player aimed a dig at his former coach, clearly annoyed by the low amount of playing time he had with the Spanish side last season.

"I needed a coach like this, one that pushed me to work hard all day. I hope to do great things with Vincenzo Italiano," Jovic told DAZN.

The footballer went on to reveal why he chose to play for the Viola side despite being tempted by other Italian clubs. His answer will surely not go down among some of his rivals.

"I chose Fiorentina for a number of reasons, but the main one is their ambition and their offensive football. I think they are one of the few Italian clubs that try to damage their opponent," Jovic added.

The player also revealed how he also felt motivated by the success some of his compatriots in the past enjoyed while playing for the Viola club.

"As you may already know, this locker room has welcomed quite a few Serbian players. In fact, there are three more other than me right now. My goal will be to repeat the success each of my countrymen enjoyed in past seasons with this club," Jovic concluded.

The player was allowed to leave Real Madrid on a free move, but Los Blancos kept an option to collect 50% of a potential transfer away from the club in the future. That way, the Spanish side aims to recover a portion of what they spent in signing Jovic three seasons ago.
