The Bundesliga champions have bid farewell while the striker has sent out a message to everyone at the club ahead of his Camp Nou move.

Barcelona have finally gotten their man! After months of negotiations, the Blaugrana have all but secured the signing of Robert Lewandowski, arguably the best no.9 in world football.

Despite initially refusing to entertain a sale, Bayern Munich eventually green lighted his move to the Spanish giants, caving into the player's demands. This was reported by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, with the Italian journalist posting his famous "here we go" message, announcing that the German giants accepted Barcelona's final offer.

And on Saturday, official confirmation came from both parties. Lewandowski, who went public with his desire to leave the Allianz Arena for the Camp Nou, revealed an exclusive statement to Torben Hoffmann of Sky Sport Germany, bidding farewell to the Bayern Munich fans.

"I will come back and say goodbye to all the employees properly. I didn't have much time to prepare for it now," the 33-year-old said.

"These 8 years were special and you don't forget that. I had a great time in Munich. I will fly soon but after the training camp, I will come again and say goodbye properly and organize a few things (house, etc.)

"I said goodbye to the guys on the pitch today, I wasn't worried about an injury in training. Something can happen to me at home. I wanted to keep fit and trained with the boys again," the striker concluded.

Shortly afterwards, Bayern Munich admitted that their talisman forward is headed to Catalonia, with die Roten president Herbert Hainer stating that a verbal agreement had been reached with Barcelona before paying tribute to the goalscoring machine.

"We have come to a verbal agreement with Barcelona. It's good to have clarity for all parties. Robert is an incredible player and he won everything with us. We are incredibly grateful to him," the executive admitted.

And understandably, this news was met with excitement from Barcelona fans. The additions of Lewandowski and Raphinha; complemented by the presence of Dembele, Fati, and Torres; will hand Xavi a lethal attack this upcoming season.

As for the German giants, they have announced a contract extension for Serge Gnabry, with the German ace, who was entering the final year of his previous deal, signing on until 2026. Given that both him and summer signing Sadio Mane can deputize down the middle, it will be interesting to see if Nagelsmann pursues a striker or not.
