The Juventus center-back has apparently sealed a move to the Bundesliga ahead of next season.

Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt is set for a move to the Bundesliga after his club and Bayern Munich agreed on a fee in the excess of $80M fee to secure the player's transfer. The 22-year-old Dutch center-back is expected to pen a deal that will see him at Allianz Arena until at least 2027.

In the course of this week Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić reportedly flew to Italy to negotiate with the Bianconeri. The talks seemingly progressed in the right direction although no fees were agreed on by any of the parties involved. However, personal terms between the German club and De Ligt was already in place, with the defender having accepted the club's offer of a five-year deal.

On Friday, Portuguese journalist Pedro Almeida reported that there had been a breakthrough in the negotiations between the two clubs, with a $80M fee being agreed. While the structure of he payment is yet to be laid out, De Ligt is expected to arrive in Germany in the coming days to complete his medical and subsequent unveiling ceremony.

The 22-year-old Dutch defender joined Juve in the summer of 2019 but, despite his potential, has struggled to find his feet at the club. Meanwhile the Bianconeri are already targeting life after the center-back and are exploring the possibility of signing either Gabriel from Arsenal, Pau Torres from Villarreal or Gleison Bremer from Torino. The latter is reportedly on the radar of Inter Milan as well.
