After Manchester United's Robin van Persie publicly criticized David Moyes, following their humiliating defeat by Olympiakos in the Champions League, 'Mad Dog' thinks the club should immediately offload him.
The Dutchman was heavily critical of his manager's tactics during their 2-0 shock loss to the Greek champions and was not shy of coming out in public to express his frustrations, slating his teammates in the process.
“My fellow players are sometimes occupying the spaces I want to play in,” the Flying Dutchman told NOS.
“And unfortunately, they are often playing in my zones. I think that’s a shame. And when I see that, it makes it difficult for me to come to those spaces as well. So that forces me to adjust my runs, based on the position of my fellow players.”
Many Manchester United fans were infuriated by the striker's disgraceful outburst, many noting that it was his miss that was the Red Devils' best of the game. Former Brentford, Leicester and Notts County boss Martin Allen is the first high profile figure to voice his thoughts on the forward.
"It's a very fine line between confidence and arrogance. Clearly Van Persie wants out," Allen told reporters.
"Aged 30 and with a poor injury record he's the first one who should be shown the exit door in the summer."
"Quite clearly that type of attitude rubs off on the rest and there will be factions and cliques at Manchester United moaning and complaining, talking about how Sir Alex Ferguson used to do it this way or that way.
"The bottom line is, several of those players are well past their best."
