The first week of July has come and gone, and the battle for the most-watched game in the United States continued with another "round" between Major League Soccer games and Liga MX matches. The weekend concluded with a win for the MLS, as one of the most interesting matches was seen by almost half a million Americans if you add up the English and Spanish broadcasts.
The game in question was none other than El Tráfico, an exciting clash between the LA Galaxy and Los Angeles FC, which saw the latter claiming a 3-2 victory at Banc of California Stadium. The second most-watched game of the week belonged to the Mexican top-flight, in a game where Monterrey also claimed a come-from-behind win against América.
The standout of the week came thanks to the UEFA Women's Euro, with the game between the Netherlands and Sweden earning the final spot in the podium. The fact that a women's football matchup earned such an honor is testament of the growth these games have experienced in the past year, and maybe it could lead to having an entire article of the most-watched games in women's football in the near future.
Let's have a closer look at those games that caught the most attention in the past seven days.
