The Dutch midfielder has reacted to claims to that he is on his way to Old Trafford this summer.

Frenkie de Jong has responded to rumors suggesting that he is on his way out of Barcelona this summer. The 25-year-old midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United but has put the Red Devils' pursuit in the balance by highlighting his desire to continue at Camp Nou.

It is no secret that new Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag is a big fan of Frenkie de Jong and recent reports have stating that the former Ajax boss is keen on making his past student central to the project at Old Trafford. Initially it was revealed that the Dutch midfielder was adamant to move away from Barca despite the club's stance to part ways with him should the right offer arrive.

However, recent rumors have indicated that De Jong has had a change of mind about his future and is considering a move to Manchester United this summer. While some reports suggest that his stance is as a result of being told that he been put up for sale, it is speculated that Ten Hag did a good job to convince the former Ajax star to reconsider his decision and join the Premier League outfit.

Having put in another remarkable performance in the Netherland's 3-2 victory against Wales in the Nations League, De Jong made his sentiments known when asked about his potential move to United. Speaking at the post-match press conference, he said:

"You're always flattered when teams show interest in you as a player, but I am at the biggest club in the world at the moment.

"I feel fine there [at Barça], so… no news."

De Jong's words may have very little influence on his future as far as speculatios are concerned. Latest report from multiple sources across Europe suggest that the player might eventually get his wish as Man Utd are reluctant to meet Barcelona's valuation of the player.
