France will aim to secure their first win of the Nations League campaign when they welcome Croatia to Stade de France on Monday.

France will be hoping the Nations League isn't a barometer for their World Cup defence as they head into this clash with Croatia sitting bottom of Group 1A. Les Bleus have been a major disappointment in their latest Nations League group, despite being clear favourites up against Denmark, Austria and Croatia.

After three matches, they have collected just two points. They opened their campaign with a disappointing 2-1 defeat against Denmark before picking up successive 1-1 draws in meetings with Croatia and Austria. Against the latter, France were almost met with the disappointment of picking up another loss. After conceding Andreas Weimann's opener, substitute Kylian Mbappe proved to be the difference maker, coming off the bench to score a late equalizer to secure a point for the current World Cup holders.

Although the struggles of Didier Deschamps men persist, they will fancy their odds coming up against the Croatians. The Blues have at least scored a goal in each of their last 23 matches in all competitions and can well get the better of their upcoming opponents in what is a must win game at the Stade de France.

For Croatia, the upcoming encounter will present another opportunity for them to get a subtle revenge over the French in what is a repeat of the 2018 FIFA World Cup final. The man who led them to the historic final in Russia, Zlatko Dalić, has so far done an 'okay' job in helping his side run a better campaign.

They began their Nations League adventure with a 3-0 defeat against Austria, but successfully bounced back with a narrow 1-0 win over Denmark. In-between, they drew 1-1 with France, with Andrej Kramarić scoring a late penalty to tie the game inside Stadion Poljud.

Although France will be favored by many, the odds could turn in favor of Luka Modric and his men who have only lost one of their last 12 matches in all tournaments since their Euro 2020 elimination. It is worth noting that they have won all of their last four away matches.
