The Egyptian ace seemed determined to sign a contract extension before the UEFA Champions League final, but he is yet to commit to a new deal with the EPL club.

Mohamed Salah was supposed to have a say on his future right after the end of the UEFA Champions League, but the game has come and gone, Liverpool lost, and the Egyptian ace is yet to make a decision about his future. Today, a report has dropped a major hint on why Salah is yet to step up and discuss a contract extension publicly, and it seems it will not be good news for Reds' fans.

According to a report by The Mirror, the Egyptian footballer is ready to snub all offers to extend his deal at Anfield in favor of making a shocking move to another European giant. The only condition to see that deal becoming a reality would be for Salah to become a free agent next summer, which would see him earning quite a handsome fee at his new club.

The team that has offered Salah a handsome deal under those conditions is none other than Barcelona, who have asked the player to snub all incoming offers from Liverpool to facilitate his signing next season.

This new development would explain why Salah went from almost securing his extended stay at Anfield to refusing to speak about his future beyond his inner circle, who revealed to The Mirror how things stand between the club and the footballer.

Only time will tell if Salah's reported choice to join Barcelona is the right one for his career, but it would surely be a bold and interesting move to witness next summer.
