The English forward closed in on another international milestone with his goal against Germany on Tuesday night.

England left things late to secure their first point of this year's UEFA Nations League campaign, drawing 1-1 with German in their second group game. The Three Lions were delivered from the cusp of defeat after Harry Kane bagged his 50th international goal from the penalty spot very late into proceedings.

There was very little to cheer about in the first half with both sides failing to produce match-defining moments. However, England looked to be heading for their second defeat of the competition when Jonas Hofmann's deflected 50th-minute shot fired Germany in front inside the Allianz Stadium in Munich.

The indication was the Hansi Flick's side was on course to grabbing their first win of the campaign after drawing 1-1 with Italy in their first game but with 18 minutes remaining, England's attacking impetus was boosted by the introduction of Jack Grealish and Jarrod Bowen. Eventually, Germany's chance to go home with all the three points was eroded after conceding a penalty in the 87th minute. What initially seemed like a controversial call was solved following the intervention of VAR which judged in favor of Harry Kane after the striker was brought down by Nico Schlotterbeck.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker stepped up and sent Manuel Neuer the wrong way for his 50th international goal for England. After 71 appearances, he is now the second player in the history of the Three Lions to score 50 international goals, surpassing Sir Bobby Charlton (49) on the all-time chart. At the moment, he is just three goals away from equaling Wayne Rooney's record as the England's all-time top goalscorer.
