Preview: Bad moments for both sides
Fulham’s hunt to stay in the top flight now has to go on without ex-Man United striker Dimitar Berbatov. In the last moments of the January transfer window, the Bulgarian star left for AS Monaco to replace injured striker Radamel Falcao.
The Cottagers are rooted at the bottom of the English Premier League table but by the end of Matchday 24, only six points separated them from eleventh-placed Stoke City. In order words, things are tight in the second half of the standings and Fulham could easily find themselves in the safe zone – provided they hit a few right nails during the coming weeks.
Manchester United have already lost four times and drawn twice at home in the league. Fulham will be hoping to become the fifth side to embarrass the Red Devils at the Theatre of Dreams. However, the challenge will be huge as they haven’t scored a goal in the EPL since January 11 in a heavy 4-1 defeat to Sunderland.
This week, captain Nemanja Vidic publicly announced that he will be leaving Old Trafford and England altogether at the end of the season as a free agent. He promised to play at his best until then. This weekend, helping his team to record their third clean sheet in all competitions in 2014 will surely reassure distraught Man United fans.
