The Stars and Stripes and La Celeste won their respective matches prior to their meeting on Sunday. Who will come out on top?

The USMNT continue with their preparation to defend their title in the CONCACAF Nations League, and one of the toughest tests for them will take place on Sunday when they welcome Uruguay at Children's Mercy Park in Kansas.

This will be the second friendly match for the USMNT ahead of their involvement in the CONCACAF Nations League, following their three-nil win over Morocco. Meanwhile, Uruguay will continue their North American tour after beating Mexico with a similar score as their rivals on Sunday, where a gol by Matías Vecino and a brace by Edinson Cavani gave Los Charrúas their fifth win in a row under coach Diego Alonso.

The USMNT and La Celeste have faced each other several times, with the most recent one taking place before the COVID-19 pandemic. Games between these teams tend to be quite close, with narrow scores being the trend whenever these teams meet.

The USMNT have called up some of their best footballers for this match, which include Christian Pulisic, Tim Weah, Weston McKennie, and Tyler Adams. Added to that, has included some youngsters in his roster to add fresh talent to the team. Names such as Joe Scally (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Malik Tillman (Bayern München), and Haji Wright, who scored his first international goal for the Yanks, will be some of the new footballers trying to earn a spot to play in Qatar next winter.

On the other side of the pitch, Uruguay will continue their preparations for the FIFA World Cup with this friendly, which will be the second in a row after their win against Mexico. Uruguay secured a spot in Qatar thanks to an impressive four-game winning streak under new boss Diego Alonso.

Being this one of their first preliminary matches ahead of the World Cup, coach Alonso called up the best of the best for La Celeste, including Edinson Cavani, Federico Valverde, Diego Godín, and Benfica's sensation Darwin Núñez. The major absence for these games will be that of Luis Suárez, who is still recovering from an injury.

Considering that both teams will have some of their best men available, this should be a must-watch clash for all football enthusiasts.
