AC Milan secure new owners after takeover deal is completed

The freshly crowned Scudetto winners will now be under new ownership after a massive financial deal was recently conducted.

There will be some big changes for AC Milan ahead of the 2022/23 season, and it is not just starting off a Serie A campaign as the reigning champs for the first time since 2011.

Fresh off winning their first Scudetto in over a decade, Milan will be under new ownership, after American hedge fund Elliott Management agreed to sell the club to RedBird, another American investment organization for an approximate $1.27 billion (€1.2 billion).

Bahraini investment fund Investcorp were reportedly initially in the running, but pulled out after hitting a snag during negotiations.

According to reports, Elliott are still expected to retain a minority share in the club, and all aspects should be finalized by September of this year at the latest.

With Milan now set to feature in the Champions League once again, hopes will be high regarding the new owners and if they can spearhead a continued revival of the club who have endured their fair share of difficulties as of late.
