During his time at Manchester City, Roberto Mancini never seemed to be able to get all the fans on his side. Even after claiming the EPL title with a late strike from Kun Aguero, the Italian manager always had his critics.

Now that he has moved on from the Etihad and is managing Galatasaray in Turkey, Mancini believes he is the one who deserves credit for City's current campaign.

"I am happy that Manchester City are one of the better teams in England, because I am the only who put the team together," Mancini told BBC.

"The players who have scored goals are those that I brought into the club: Aguero, Dzeko, Toure, David Silva and Nasri."

"When a manager expects hard work, he knows that he could run into problems with the players. It is normal because the manager expects his players to give it their all. Players should understand that. When you change managers, you change everything surrounding the football team. I think Pellegrini is doing a fantastic job, but what is happening right now, is what happened three years ago," he added.
