Preview: Juve and Napoli both in top form
Sunday’s fixture comes at a perfect time for both sides. Juventus have found back the confidence they need to challenge for silverware. They have picked maximum points from their last three league matches and are unbeaten in all competitions since their back-to-back defeats away to Fiorentina and Real Madrid.
The Scudetto champions enter the match with 28 points like second-placed Napoli. The latter have scores to settle in Turin but they will be hopeful of ending Sunday’s match with at least a point, looking at their great form under Rafael Benitez.
With Gonzalo Higuain, Jose Callejon and Marek Hamsik, Rafa’s squad has found stability in attack. Napoli have failed to score only twice in a total of 15 matches this season. This happened against Arsenal in Europe and league leaders AS Roma in the Serie A.
They have won each of their last five fixtures in all competitions and are on the brink of reaching the Round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League. Meanwhile, in Europe, more work needs to be done for Antonio Conte’s men who occupy the bottom of their group with three points.
In the meantime, the focus for both teams is on Sunday’s match up. The winner will take a great step forward in challenging the Giallorossi at the top of the table.
