The Blaugrana will return to the Nou Camp after their mid-week victory in Scotland, as they seek their eight victory in as many matches.

Barcelona are poised to demolish Real Valladolid on Matchday 8 of the Spanish La Liga.Preview: Martino's undefeated Barcelona look to continue great streak

When Gerardo Martino was appointed manager of Barcelona, there were a number of question marks floating around the Nou Camp. Was he good enough? Without any European Football experience, would he struggle with the pressure?

The truth is that Tata Martino not only has silenced the critics, but he is also on the way to potentially breaking a record currently held by Real Madrid.

Having won nine successive matches, Real Madrid currently holds the record. Interestingly enough, if Barcelona was to break that record, they would have to do it against Real Madrid in three weeks time. But before they worry about that, they will need to focus on their match against Valladolid, who has only one victory in seven matches.

Barcelona will once again be without Messi, Carles Puyol, Jordi Alba and Javier Mascherano. And although three of the four are defenders, the Catalans' highly criticized back-four has held their own thus far.

With only five goals conceded from their seven La Liga matches, Barcelona fans will be excited, considering all the negative attention surrounding their backline.

On the other end of the pitch, goals have come fast and furious. 24 goals scored, with eight of those coming from Messi. And although the Argentine international will not be available on Saturday, Martino can turn his attention to Pedro, who has five goals.

It is very likely that Andre Iniesta will get some rest ahead of the international break, which could give Sergi Roberto a chance to step into the squad. Along with the Spanish midfielder, Xavi and Busquets should get the start against the Pucela.

Unfortunately for the visitors, their lack of depth coupled with a lot of injuries has forced manager Juan Ignacio Martinez to call up a few youth players. If given the chance, what an experience that would be for them, to take the pitch at the Nou Camp against some of the world's high profile football players.

For Alberto Rodriguez, if he does make an appearance, it will be a memorable one. The Valladolid player is the son of former Barcelona defender Juan Carlos Rodriguez.

But putting all that emotion aside, this Valladolid squad will want to build off of their last two matches away from their stadium. A scoreless draw against Elche and a 1-1 draw at La Rosaleda against Malaga earned them two points, but a visit to the Nou Camp will be much more difficult.

From their previous six meetings, Barcelona has won all six. At the Nou Camp, Valladolid has only managed one goal in three matches, while they have conceded twelve. With the odds clearly stacked against the visitors, managing to even steal a point at the Nou Camp will be a positive result.
