Internazionale and AS Roma will clash in an epic Italian Serie A battle on Saturday, October 5, 2013.Preview: Roma looking to maintain winning streak at the expense of Inter

The arrival of Rudi Garcia has revived La Maggica who have won six out of six in the league so far maintaining a 100 percent win record. The departures of key players including Erik Lamela, Marquinhos and Pablo Osvaldo has not affected Garcia’s side who have invested the money wisely on new players.
Adem Ljajic and Gervinho who were signed from Fiorentina and Arsenal respectively have scored three goals apiece so far. Roma’s other high profile capture Kevin Strootman has also seamlessly adjusted into his new side and has notched up three assists in the league so far.

All three men as well as Alessandro Florenzi and Francesco Totti who despite his growing age has produced excellent performances on a consistent basis, will test the Inter defence to their limits.

Internazionale on the other hand boast quite a mean defence which has conceded only three goals so far in the league only Roma (1) have conceded fewer goals than I Nerazzurri in Serie A. For this reason Saturday’s tie could be a clash of the defences.

Both Roma and Inter however have been equally effectual on the attacking front and are the league’s top two scorers with 17 and 16 goals respectively.

The Nerazzurri's goal threat has come from 31 year old Rodrigo Palacio who is his side’s top goal scorer with three goals to his name. The Argentinean continues his spectacular form from last season when he was Internazionale top scorer with 12 goals in the Serie A.

However Palacio will have to be at his best to beat Roma goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis, who has managed three clean sheets in as many matches this season. Roma who are the league’s only team yet to draw or lose a match will be hoping to continue their fine run. However it is important to keep in mind that Garcia’s men have had an easy run of fixtures as compared to Inter who have already played the likes of Juventus and Fiorentina.

Roma boast a good record against their counterparts and are unbeaten in the last four games against Inter in league encounters. Roma also emerged victorious in both the Coppa Italia matches between the two sides last season.
