Preview: The USMNT Will Look To Keep Their Goal Scoring Run Going In Utah
After going up against Belize, the USA could face a slightly more difficult test against Cuba, but the Americans are still expected to come out on top in this match. Jurgen Klinsmann's side came out of their first match in the group with a comfertable victory, but this Cuban side should be slightly more difficult to break down.
Having lost 3-0 against Costa Rica in their opening match, Los Leones Del Caribe will want to put on a better performance if they look to keep their Gold Cup hopes alive.
In order to do that, they will have to overcome history. A historic match in Havana in 2010 for the World Cup Qualification round ended in a 0-1 victory for the USMNT. Before that, both teams have met in Seattle and even Foxborough, with both ending in very comfertable victories for the Yanks.
Klinsmann's side will not want to go into the match expected a victory, especialy considering they still have a number of players who are looking to leave a good impression, hoping to get called for next year's World Cup, if the USA qualifies.
Chris Wondolowski hopes to notch a few more goals as he looks to build his credentials within the squad.
As for the Cubans, coming in the top two may be difficult in this group, but a third place spot could potentially earn them a place in the next round. When you consider that Belize is also in this group, a third place finish should be expected of Cuba.
It will all come down to the belief of the players, and if they are willing to leave it all on the line in order to find success in this year's Gold Cup.
