The England No.1 made as series of double saves in his side's important clash with Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.

Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford won the affection of fans on social media after producing a series of spectacular saves against Chelsea in Sunday afternoon's Premier League clash. The Toffees shotstopper was called into action right on the hour mark and did not disappoint in keeping his side in the game following Richarlison's opener.

It was a matter of 'all or nothing' for Frank Lampard's Everton side who are currently locked in a relegation battle. The Merseysiders have it all to play for as they side in 18th position with five games left of the season to play. As a result, a win against Chelsea was non-negotiable despite the magnitude of the task.

Following an uninspiring first 45 minutes, Everton finally had the breakthrough they sought with Demarai Gray capitalizing on a defensive error by Azpilicueta to set up Richarlison for the opener in the 46th minute. 14 minutes later Pickford's big moment arrived.

It all started when Mason Mount shot at goal struck the base of both posts. Having dived for the Chelsea' midfielder's effort, Pickford got back to his feet and incredibly saved Cesar Azpilicueta attempt off the line, immediately drawing a standing ovation from the Everton fans. Shortly after, the England No.1 sprung up once more and made another great save (with his face) to deny Antonio Rudiger from close range.

Watch:

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp labeled Pickford's stop against Chelsea as the 'Save of the Season' as it safeguarded Everton's narrow lead. The Toffees are now a point away from safety with a game in-hand to play against Crystal Palace.
