The Barcelona defender has weighed in his side's attacking targets ahead of a busy summer.

Dani Alves has revealed his preference on Barcelona's attacking targets, stating that Kylian Mbappe would be a better signing than Erling Haaland. The 38-year-old right-back made his revelation in an interview in which he touched on numerous subjects including the future of the Camp Nou outfit.

With the rebuild under Xavi still ongoing, Barca have been linked with the two most in-demand players in world football. However, it is increasingly unlikely that the Catalans will be able to secure the service of either of them with Mbappe rumored to be closing in on a move to Real Madrid while Haaland's fees remain beyond the financial grasp of the club.

However, that has not stopped Dani Alves from weighing in on the debate about who Barcelona's ideal forward for the foreseeable future should be. Speaking to Sport and Mundo Deportivo, the world's most decorated player stated that he would chose Mbappe over Haaland for his side should if he had the power to.

"I wouldn't go all out for Haaland. Honestly, I wouldn't spend a lot of money on him," he said.

"On Mbappe yes, but not on Haaland. I'm playing sporting director, eh, but I'd go for Mbappe first, I think he's more complete in every aspect.

"If you're going to make a huge investment, you have to make it in the best. If it was up to me, I'd go for Mbappe. He's the best there is, and for Barcelona's style, at the moment, in football, there is no-one better than him," Alves added.
