The player is not keen on joining an MLS side just yet, which would see him joining a team from another European league.

Apparently, the end of an era will come to an end this summer if Luis Suárez completes his intentions to leave Atlético Madrid. The time when some of the finest players in the world such as Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Suárez himself, and other were around will conclude this summer as "El Pistolero" has come closer than ever to leave the Spanish top-flight.

According to reports by Spanish newspaper As, the player is not willing to put up with being the fifth attacking option for Diego Simeone, which is why he has urged his agent to start negotiations with other European clubs. The player will remain focused with the team until the last day of the season, but that does not mean that his inner circle has already started knocking on doors for potential destinations, and two team from the same country have already opened up to discuss a potential transfer.

As' report states that Turkish giants Besiktas and Fenerbahce would be willing to offer Suárez a way out of Atlético if he is unable to sign an extension with the current La Liga champions. While negotiations are still in the initial stages, it would be interesting to see two of the most popular teams in Turkey going at it to sign one of the most talented players in the world.

Suárez collects €6M a year with the Spanish side, and while that may not seem as much compared to other footballers in the globe, it might take a little bit of negotiation from both Turkish sides to twist Suárez's arm.

The decision to open up these negotiations from Suárez's agents has come despite the permanent interest shown by MLS clubs, who are desperate to hire the Uruguayan ace. However, it seems that Suárez will only be prepared to make such a move when his friend and former Barcelona colleague Lionel Messi decides to join a Major League Soccer side.

Suárez's goals last season were key to help Atlético reach the 2020-21 La Liga title, and with barely no playing time this season, it seems that the South American ace will be packing his bags for good when this campaign comes to a close. Even so, only time will tell which one of these Turkish teams complete the signing of this veteran but reliable footballer.
