The Blues were handed a heavy defeat at home to the Bees, setting several unwanted milestones along the way.

Chelsea returned to Premier League action on Sunday, with the Blues hosting fellow London side Brentford in their first game back since the recent international break.

Thomas Tuchel's men entered this clash in brilliant form, winning all but one of their 12 matches leading up to this Stamford Bridge affair. However, not only did the champions of Europe become the latest team to lose to the Bees, Havertz and Co. suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of the newly-promoted club, going 4-1 down at their own ground.

It was the home side that went ahead first, with Antonio Rudiger breaking the deadlock with a brilliant goal shortly after the break. However, the visitors turned things around in the space of four minutes, with Vitaly Janelt and Christian Eriksen scoring in the 50th and 54th minute respectively to pull off a comeback.

However, Thomas Frank's men did not stop there. While Brentford nearly conceded on a few occasions, the newly-promoted team went on to score another two times, with Janelt completing his brace before Yoane Wissa made it four.

This result saw both sides set Premier League milestones, though for completely different reasons. First of all, this was the first time Brentford managed to beat the London giants in just over 83 years, having last triumphed against the Blues in February 1939!

Additionally, this was the first time Chelsea have lost a Premier League London Derby at Stamford Bridge by three or more goals in 25 years, having last suffered such a result against Arsenal (3-0) in April 1997.

This defeat, however, isn't only about the records. Tuchel's men have dropped 14 points behind league leaders Manchester City and are 13 points adrift of second-placed Liverpool. In fact, Arsenal could move within two points of the Blues should the Gunners beat Crystal Palace on Monday, which is a huge concern for Tuchel and Co.
