The Spanish national team head coach has responded to speculations linking him to the Manchester United job.

Spanish national team head coach Luis Enrique has finally reacted to rumors linking him with a move to Manchester United. The 51-year-old broke his silence by leaving the door open amid claims that he could consider a switch this summer.

Officials at Manchester United are putting together a list of potential replacement managers for Ralf Rangnick, who will step down at the end of the season. The German coach was hired on a temporary basis and will be promoted to consultant in the summer, leaving room for the arrival of the new manager.

Among the names circulating are Mauricio Pochettino, Erik ten Hag, Julen Lopetegui and Luis Enrique. At the moment, it is believed that Ten Hag is the frontrunner after the Ajax manager excelled in a recently conducted interview for the Red Devils. Nevertheless, no decision has been. made as the club seeks to speak to other coaches before finalising their decision.

Ahead of Spain's international friendly with Iceland, Luis Enrique was quizzed on the subject of moving to Man Utd. Owning to his commitment to the Spanish national team, an agreement with the former Barcelona coach is not expected to arrive easily. Despite reiterating his commitment to La Roja, he left the door open for a potential move away in the near future.

"I will be in Qatar with Spain because I have given my word and there is nothing that makes me more excited than representing my country in the World Cup; later, we'll see."

Meanwhile, Mauricio Pochettino still remains on the priority list of Manchester United with some individuals in the boardroom said to be in favor of his signing. The Paris Saint-Germain manager could leave the club at the end of the season and is expected to rival the rest for the vacancy at Old Trafford.
