The English striker made history with his two-goal haul against Roma, but Jose argues that Tammy can do a lot more.

Tammy Abraham is enjoying life in the Italian capital. After falling down the pecking order at Chelsea despite his lovely goalscoring record, the Englishman secured a move to Serie A powerhouse Roma and has gone from strength to strength at the Stadio Olimpico.

The 24-year-old wasted no time in hitting the ground, scoring 23 goals so far this season, 15 of which came in the Italian top-flight. His most recent outing was the sweetest of them all, with the Three Lions talent netting a brilliant brace on arguably the best stage: the Derby della Capitale versus Lazio.

Abraham did not have to wait long for the first of his two goals, breaking the deadlock on Sunday inside the first minute! Twenty-one minutes later, the striker grabbed his second en route to an excellent 3-0 victory, thus earning him plaudits from fans and pundits alike.

However, Jose Mourinho was quick to curb all the enthusiasm surrounding his player. The Special One sat down with DAZN and during that discussion, the topic of Abraham was brought up. Despite putting in a Man of the Match display against their city rivals, the Portuguese manager argued that Tammy can do a lot more.

"When you say Abraham is fantastic I disagree, he can do even more," Mourinho told DAZN.

"I demand a lot of him because I know his potential, I'm not talking about goals, but he must play every game with this attitude."

What can we interpret from these quotes? The answer is simple: Mourinho probably sees a lot of promise in the former Stamford Bridge ace and is now challenging the Englishman to fulfill that potential.

The striker made Roma history, becoming the club's highest goal scorer in a debut season with the Giallorossi with his 23 goals, surpassing the record previously held by Batistuta and Montella (21). Tammy will not want to stop, however, with a trip to Sampdoria after the international break being his next target.
