The Canadian star has returned to light training after being out for a while due to a heart condition.

At the start of every Bundesliga season, there's one team who are the overwhelming favorites to win the title: Bayern Munich. As of now, die Roten, as expected, are on top of the table, but have seen their lead cut to four points after drawing their last two fixtures. While it's highly unlikely that anyone but Bayern will win the title this season, certainly, having one of their key players return to training will come as a major boost.

Canadian star Alphonso Davies has seen his involvement drastically limited due to a case of myocarditis, which came about following his infection with COVID-19. In fact, the defender's last full appearance was three months ago, on December 17, 2021. After contracting COVID-19, he was diagnosed with the heart ailment, which has kept him out of action since early January.

However, last week, he was seen doing some light running and training exercises at Bayern's Säbener Straße training ground, in what comes as a major boost for die Roten. Although it's going to be a little longer before Davies is back in action full-time, his coach, Julian Naglesmann, appears encouraged by his player's progress, and noted that with the player no longer suffering from heart muscle inflammation, he hopefully will be back to full training in a few weeks.

That being said, his manager also admitted that Davies can't be put under too much pressure at the moment, as he's been out of action for over two months and it will take time to fully get back to speed. There's been no definite date given for a return, but certainly, his club as well as the Canadian national team will hope to see him back on the pitch sooner rather than later.
