Primeira Liga headlines, stats, and other facts

Porto still going strong: The Dragons are on course to win the league title, and could potentially make history. Indeed, Porto are the only unbeaten side remaining in any of Europe's major leagues, and could become the first team to complete a Primeira Liga campaign sans a defeat if they can maintain this same rich vein of form.

One step forward, two steps back for Benfica: More frustration for Benfica last round as they were held to a one-all draw with Vizela. An early red card for the Eagles certainly didn't help proceedings, but they'll have still some more time to get things right as they take on an Estoril side who have yet to really achieve consistency this term.

Top Primeira Liga matches: March 18 - March 20, 2022

Vitória Guimarães vs Sporting CP: Sporting naturally will be the heavy favorites in this contest, but the hosts come into this match having won two on the trot and will be hoping to make it three as they aim to put a bad patch of form behind them.

Benfica vs Estoril: After a frustrating draw, Benfica will again look to try to get back to winning ways they they take on Estoril. Time is running out for the Eagles if they want to secure automatic Champions League football by securing second place in the league.

Boavista vs Porto: Boavista will become the latest side to try and stop Porto, who have been pretty much unstoppable this term. Although the Dragons have drawn two of their last five, they're still unbeaten in the Primeira Liga and presently boast a six point lead over the chasing pack.
