There will be two teams that will not be able to play due to COVID-19 restrictions, but that will leave us with eight interesting games to watch.

The 2021-22 Bundesliga season continues with several matches to keep an eye on. For example, the German top-flight will have a couple of games featuring teams among the top five, which should give us an idea on how interesting this weekend could get.

Unfortunately for league fans, the clash between Borussia Dortmund and Mainz will be played until March 16, as Mainz's squad has been depleted due to a COVID-19 outbreak within the team. This will keep Dortmund away from Bayern in the title race no matter Die Roten's result against Bayer Leverkusen, and it will also open the door to those teams under Mainz to get closer to them.

Without further ado, let's have a look at the state of the tournament ahead of this week's games.

Bundesliga standings heading into Matchday 25

Bayern hold a six-point lead over Borussia Dortmund, who will not be able to play this weekend due to a large number of COVID-19 cases within Mainz's squad, which will give Bayer a chance to get closer to the league leaders in the event of a win. Meanwhile, RB Leipzig and Freiburg are set to determine who ends the weekend in fourth place when they collide in their matchup set to be played this Saturday.
