The veteran striker has been out with various injuries this season but his club are hoping he'll win the race against time to be fit for their upcoming showdown with Napoli.

Tied neck and neck at the top of the Serie A table, a mouth-watering clash will be in store when AC Milan and Napoli at the Stadio Diego Maradona on Sunday evening.

With Inter having cruised to a comfortable win over bottom-ranked Salernitana, both teams will have seen their position knocked down to second and third respectively. That means that both the Partenopei and the Rossoneri will need to go for all three points in order to re-claim top spot.

Milan have hit a snag recently, drawing their last two fixtures against minnows Udinese as well as the aforementioned Salernitana. As such, they'll be really hoping that one of their key players will be able to make his long-awaited return on Sunday.

That player is none other than Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The 40-year-old has been out since the end of January with an Achilles issue, and has resumed training, albeit separate from his team.

However, reports indicate that he may be able to travel with the team on Sunday, depending on the outcome.

Safe to say, many Rossoneri fans will be looking forward to seeing the veteran back in action, sooner rather than later.
