Barcelona will welcome Athletic Club to Camp Nou on Sunday with the hope of adding to their recently found impressive form.

Barcelona are looking to continue their unbeaten run in La Liga when they take on Athletic Bilbao at the Camp Nou on Sunday evening. Los Blaugrana are without doubt playing and enjoying some of their best football in recent times with the new look side posing like a real force to reckon with. Under the tutelage of Xavi, the Catalans have managed to turn their season around and now look like real contenders for a Champions League qualification place next season.

Barça have picked up 19 points across their last nine league matches under their former skipper, which leaves them in fourth place on 42 points after 24 outings. They will go into Sunday's crucial encounter with Athletic Club on the back of an impressive 4-2 win over Napoli in mid-week which saw them progress to the next stage of this season's UEFA Europa League. In La Liga, a five-star performance by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang inspired them to an emphatic 4-1 win over Valencia a weekend ago, with the former Arsenal captain scoring a hat-trick in his first start.

Against Athletic Club, Barca will be eager to keep the momentum going with an unbeaten streak on the line. The former are looking for their first away league win over the Blaugrana since November 2001 and may fancy their odds to do so this weekend. Back in January, the Basque club stunned their Catalan opponents in the Round of 16 of the Copa del Rey to book a semi-final date with Real Madrid which they subsequently won.

They go into Sunday's clash sitting in eighth position in La Liga - eight points adrift the tally of Atletico Madrid in fourth and two behind sixth-placed Villarreal. Marcelino's men should be buoyed by their recent success in their local derby with Real Sociedad where they secured the bragging rights with an emphatic 4-0 win at San Mames. The Lions have only lost two of their 13 away league matches this season, but will be put through a real test as they have picked up losses at Camp Nou in each of their visits since September 2018.
