As a result of the issues between Russia and Ukraine, UEFA have decided to move the upcoming Champions League final to a new location.

After some speculation, the 2022 UEFA Champions League final now has a new home. The big event was supposed to be played in Russia, but following the escalation of troubles between the Russians and their neighbors, Ukraine, UEFA have decided that naturally, it won't be in the best interest to continue with the event happening in Russia. The urgency to find a new venue was heightened especially following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, which has sparked fears of not just war over there in Eastern Europe, but possibly dragging the West into it as well.

Safety and security could have become major concerns for teams, fans, media personnel, and others who would have had to make the journey to St. Petersburg in a few months, and now, after an emergency meeting, the football governing body have announced that the showcase game will take place in Paris.

The match will still take place on Saturday, May 28th, with the venue being announced as the famous Stade de France in Saint-Denis, and as the tournament heads towards the final, many people will be very curious to see which teams will be fortunate to take part in the latest installment of the world's most famous club competition.
