The president of Spain's top-flight league has weighed in on speculations about the pair being available for respective moves.

La Liga president Javier Tebas has professed his desire to see Barcelona succeed in signing Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund, while also wishing Real Madrid well in their pursuit of Kylian Mbappe. The 59-year-old administrator gave his blessings for the prospective arrival of the pair, citing that it will be vital in making the league competitive once more.

Both Mbappe and Haaland have been tipped for summer moves from Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund after their respective camps made their decisions clear in months past. It is also clear that Real Madrid consider the pair as priority transfer targets and have barely been able to hide their desire to make swoops for both stars. However, recent reports have indicated that Los Blancos will only look to recruit the Frenchman, opening up the possibility for others - including Barcelona - to make a swoop for Haaland.

Having already secured moves for Dani Alves, Ferran Torres, Adama Traore and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang at the beginning of the year, the Catalans are reportedly in good standing to bring on the Norwegian to Camp Nou amid their supposed financial crisis. With the rumors of the Dortmund star's arrival gathering pace, La Liga president Javier Tebas has endorsed Barca's pursuit while expressing desire to see Mbappe at Real Madrid.

"I prefer Haaland at Barca and Mbappe at Madrid," Tebas told ABC in an interview.

"I want us to have that luck that we had in the past when we had two great players, [Lionel] Messi and [Cristiano] Ronaldo, that were in the two best teams in the world. There I'm more of a Laliga fan than a Madridista [Madrid fan]."

On the subject of Mbappe potentially staying at PSG, he said: "When a player has six months to run on his contract and there hasn't been a transfer and he has not renewed his contract, it's very likely that he will leave.

"The only club that is being mentioned in the media is Real Madrid. I hope we are lucky and Real Madrid are able to complete the operation. Mbappe would bring a lot to Madrid and to LaLiga."
