Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement with Niklas Süle to join the club as free agent from FC Bayern in June 2022, the club has announced. The 25-year-old center-back will be making the switch in the summer and is expected to sign a four year deal with the option to extend for a further year.
"Borussia Dortmund has signed Niklas Süle for the 2022/23 season," the club's official statement read. "The defender is currently still a member of FC Bayern Munich and will join Borussia Dortmund when his contract expires in the Summer of 2022."
Sule has spent the last four and a half years with Bayern Munich, when he signed a four-and-a-half-year contract worth £18 million. He joined the Bundesliga's defending champions from Hoffenheim in 2017 and has made 158 appearances since then. According to the defender's agent Volker Struth, a host of top European clubs were interested in the player's recruitment but he decided against moving out of Germany.

"Niklas had other options, including some that would have made him more money," he told Bild. "Niklas decided very soon after the first contact for Borussia Dortmund. I was impressed by how convinced he was with this decision".
Sule is expected to receive a salary of $11.4M (€10M) per annum plus add ons.
