Les Parisiens were dealt a blow in the domestic cup competition, losing on penalties to Les Aiglons.

Paris Saint-Germain have crashed out of this season's Coupe de France after losing to Nice in the Round of 16 on Monday night. Les Parisiens saw their dream to qualify to the next round being cut short after losing 5-6 in a penalty shootout.

In a night in which Kylian Mbappe started on the bench and Lionel Messi finally sported a No.10 shirt for the Parc des Princes outfit, it was Nice who had the better chances throughout the proceeding. However, none of them could materialise in a goal, and the stalemate ushered in the penalty shootout.

After Morgan Schneiderlin, Lionel Messi, Jean-Clair Todibo, Kylian Mbappe and Youcef Atal had all converted their efforts, Leandro Paredes handed Nice the advantage by having his attempt saved. However, Gianluigi Donnarumma restored parity by keeping out Andy Delort's subsequent kick.

The next set of kicks all found the back of the net before Xavi Simons had his effort to the right saved by Nice goalkeeper Marcin Bulka. With the win, Nice will take on Marseille in the quarter-final of the Coupe de France. Les Aiglons are now on track to secure their first trophy in the competition since 1997.
