The Blues were forced to share spoils with the Seagulls in Tuesday night's Premier League encounter.

Chelsea hit a new low under manager Thomas Tuchel after their dismal form in the Premier League continued with a draw at Brighton. The Blues were made to share spoils with the Seagulls after a being held to a disappointing 1-1 draw at the Amex  Stadium on Tuesday night, ending any glimmer of hope left in their title pursuit.

The European champions approached the encounter on the back of a three-game winless run which was extended by last weekend's defeat to Manchester City. However, the signs looked promising for a probable change in fortunes after Hakim Ziyech fired them into a first-half lead at with a low strike inside the 28th minute. However, the Stamford Bridge outfit failed to build on the momentum handed them and would consequently pay the price.

Although Brighton had first-choice forward pair Neal Maupay and Leandro Trossard on their bench until later on in the game, they played with more intent and looked a constant threat. They were eventually rewarded in the 60th minute after Adam Webster nodded home Alexis Mac Allister's cross to level the scores.

With none of the sides producing any goal from that point onward, Brighton extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to six games while Chelsea, for the first time since Thomas Tuchel's appointment, are now without a win in their last four outings.

At the moment, the Blues' title aspirations are in ruins as they trail league leaders Manchester City by 12 points. Since the start of November, they have won just only four Premier League games, drawing seven and losing two within the period.
