EPL club looking to sign Eriksen

One Premier League club looking to bring Eriksen back to England after Inter exit

January 17, 2022 By Ali M.
And according to the Athletic, talks are underway and a contract has been offered to the out-of-work Danish star.

Christian Eriksen has suffered a roller-coaster seven months, with the Danish superstar suffering a near-tragic cardiac arrest on the pitch during a Euro 2020 game, with heroic intervention from his teammates and the medical staff saving his life.

The playmaker's condition eventually stabilized before making a full recovery. However, he was fitted with an ICD (implantable cardio defibrillator), and due to Serie A regulations which forbid footballers with such equipment from playing competitively in the Italian top-flight, Inter Milan were forced to release the midfielder last month.

With the former Tottenham ace being without a club and looking to restart his career elsewhere, exciting rumors have recently emerged, linking Eriksen with a shocking return to none other than the Premier League.

A Spurs reunion seems like the most likely situation, but it's not the north London giants who are interested in bringing back the 29-year-old to England. The Athletic have now revealed the club that are keen on Eriksen's services and it is none other than Brentford.

The newly-promoted team are said to already be in talks with Christian, having offered him a six-month deal with the option of a further year. Whether this move will get completed remains unclear, but should it happen, it would be a much-welcomed positive update in the Eriksen saga.

Despite training with Danish club Odense Boldklub to maintain his fitness, the midfielder has not played a competitive match since June 12 against Finland when he collapsed on the pitch. This means it will probably take time for the former Ajax youth talent to return to full strength.

The Bees have been impressive since securing promotion, but form has slipped away from Thomas Frank's men recently. In fact, Brentford have won only three of their last 14 league games and could thus benefit from the creativity Eriksen offers.
