What are the standings in Group E and Group F in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations?

What are the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations games to watch on January 16, 2022?

Gambia vs Mali: This game is a battle for the top spot, as both Gambia and Mali are level on three points and a 1+ goal difference each. Bissouma and Co. picked up their win in rather controversial manner, albeit at no fault of their own, as poor officiating aided in their 1-0 triumph over Tunisia. Meanwhile, Gambia overcame Mauritania thanks to Ablie Jallow's 10th-minute goal. The winner in this tie will all but confirm their spot in the round of 16. Who will emerge triumphant? Tune in to find out the answer!

Tunisia vs Mauritania: Fresh off that controversial loss to Mali, Tunisia look to get their campaign back together on Matchday 2 when they lock horns with Mauritania. The Eagles of Carthage, who had a man advantage in the final stage of their opener, albeit due to a debatable red card, were pushing for an equalizer when the match official blew for the final whistle twice before the 90th minute. This sparked outrage and an official complaint to the CAF, which has since been dismissed. A bounce back is needed against Mauritania, but the Lions of Chinguetti, despite losing 1-0, were the dominant side in their opener, mustering 20 shots. Unfortunately, not many were cut-clear chances, hence the result.

Ivory Coast vs Sierra Leone: Ivory Coast are one of the favorites for the tournament, and having kicked things off with a 1-0 victory against Equatorial Guinea, the Elephants showed why they boast this title. Patrice Beaumelle has an exceptionally talented squad, with his decision to leave both Zaha and Pepe on the bench in the opener being proof. Unfortunately, Sierra Leone have shown they can frustrate superior opposition after holding Algeria to a goalless draw. A second consecutive victory for Ivory Coast would all but guarantee them progression to the next round. However, achieving that should not be a walk in the park.

Algeria vs Equatorial Guinea: Algeria are the defending champions, but it would have been hard to tell from their opening day performance. The title holders drew nil-nil with Sierra Leone and will thus need to win this tie if they wish to top their group or, at the very least, secure automatic qualification for the knockout stage. Their opposition, Equatorial Guinea, endured a worse start, losing 1-0 to Ivory Coast after conceding after only five minutes. Can they shock Mahrez and Co. or does a second consecutive loss await the African minnows? Do not miss this game.
