League Cup: Semi-finals first leg broadcast info

League Cup - How to watch the first legs of the semi-finals

January 4, 2022 By Oscar Rojas
It all comes down to four teams fighting for the title left vacant by Manchester City earlier this season. Watch both games taking place this week with our guide.

We are down to the semi-final stage in the English League Cup, and all teams involved have a legitimate chance of going all the way in the cup competition.

The tournament will have some interesting ties in the next couple of days, with Chelsea and Tottenham kicking off the action. This game will mark Antonio Conte's return to Stamford Bridge after a successful but controversial spell, while Arsenal and Liverpool will be set to fight for a spot in the final while also dealing with a number of absences caused by the AFCON and COVID-19 diagnosis within their respective squads.

Without further ado, let's dig deeper into each game before the ball starts rolling.

Chelsea vs Tottenham

The Blues enter this game while on an unlucky streak that has seen them draw four of their last six matches. Surprisingly, none of their wins during that run have come while playing at Stamford Bridge, which should be a warning for Thomas Tuchel's side ahead of the rest of the season.

On the other hand, Tottenham will make it to Stamford Bridge with an unbeaten run of five games, with three of those games ending in wins. Conte's men claimed a crucial win for their cause in the Premier League away from home against Watford last weekend, and they will surely want to follow suit when they visit Conte's former Premier League side.

This clash will see both teams struggling with absences. as Chelsea will welcome Spurs without six players, five of them injured and one more away on international duty. Meanwhile, Tottenham will travel to Stamford Bridge without three injured players, which could give Conte and edge over Tuchel when it comes to their squad selection.

Did you know? The most recent fixture between these teams ended in a 3-0 win for Chelsea at Tottenham's stadium.

Arsenal vs Liverpool

The game between the Gunners and the Reds was postponed by the FA due to Liverpool's struggles to complete their squad due to a COVID-19 outbreak within the team. Added to that, Klopp's men had other injury absences and players such as Mohamed Salah, Naby Keita, and Sadio Mané on international duty. Hence, the decision to postpone this fixture until January 20 was made on January 5.
