The battle for the top spot continues with intense games and everything to play for in most of the league's stadiums. Here is a preview of what we can expect.

The English Premier League returns to action with one of the most interesting weeks in the calendar. Teams fighting on both sides of the table will be eager to add points to their tally during games that could see several matches with a high number of goals.

The weekend will kick off with Chelsea visiting West Ham, while Liverpool will have a hard time to collect three points later that day when they make the trip to Wolverhampton. The stellar match of the day will have Manchester City battling for an away win against Watford, in what will be one more showdown between Claudio Ranieri and Pep Guardiola.

Other teams that will gather quite a few looks will be Manchester United and Tottenham, both scheduled to play on Sunday. Antonio Conte's men will welcome Norwich to kick things off, while the Red Devils will host Crystal Palace in what should be a fun game to watch.

Here are the main points you need to consider prior to the start of this weekend's games.

Chelsea are still top of the league with 33 points, followed closely by Pep Guardiola's Manchester City, who trail them by only one point. Meanwhile, Liverpool are two units behind the Blues in what has turned out to be a hectic and entertaining title race. West Ham and Arsenal, two teams that were unable to win their midweek games, are further behind.
