The third placed side in the Bundesliga takes on the brilliant leaders this week.
FC Bayern München has been nothing short of brilliant so far this season. They have won 14 out of the 16 matches in which they have taken part in in all competitions. The depth of their squad is second to none. And as Bayer 04 Leverkusen showed, Lady Luck will need to smile on the opposition if Bayern is to be beaten in the league.

The Marienplatz is perhaps already being prepared for a title celebration and it is only match-day 11! However, complacency is the one word that Bayern must watch out for. They had a huge lead in the league last season too but threw it all away. The main reason that Bayern lost their lead was the loss of Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Schweinsteiger is currently in his best form and he was nothing short of amazing against Lille. Lille conceded six to an absolutely fabulous Bayern. Lille’s tactics however were designed to break down Bayern’s play. Frankfurt’s tactics will be different. They will look to play and score. After all, they did secure a 3-3 draw against the champions, Borussia Dortmund this season.

Eintracht’s previous two matches have reminded their fans that the goal at the end of this season is at most a Europa League spot. Lady Luck certainly did not shine on them against Stuttgart on Match-day Nine. They lost 2-1 despite having scored a second goal through Karim Matmour. The goal was wrongly ruled out for offside.

Frankfurt drew against Greuther Fürth last week in a lacklustre game. Fürth is fighting for relegation but made Kevin Trapp pull out saves repeatedly. Trapp will have to be on top form at the Allianz Arena of he is to deny Bayern. Frankfurt, however, like most German sides, can play very good football.

Takashi Inui has been a dangerous player this season for them. Pirmin Schwegler is a very good midfielder. Sebastian Rode is a talented midfielder as well. Finally, up front, they have a very good striker in Alexander Meier. Meier is said to be inconsistent. However, on his day, he is quite astonishing. He has been unplayable at times this season.

Bayern will not bother too much with the talent at Frankfurt’s disposal though. They have a wealth of talent at their disposal. Mario Mandzukic is at the top of the scorer’s list in the Bundesliga. Yet, it was Claudio Pizarro who hit a midweek hat-trick against Lille. This season’s Bayern looks even better than that of the last.

However, there is still one question mark over Bayern. Frankfurt will be trying to exploit exactly that weak point. When Bayern concedes first, they become edgy and the talent on the pitch makes way for a nervous crop of players. They have conceded first thrice this season in all competitions and have lost two of those matches. Granted that Leverkusen was lucky to beat them, they still lost to BATE.

Nonetheless, the clash at the Allianz will be between two hugely entertaining sides. Expect more entertainment if nothing else on Saturday.

Prediction: Bayern 2-1 Frankfurt.
