Parma vs Roma Preview

Last weekend, we almost saw Live Soccer TV’s score prediction for the game between Roma-Udinese come true.

Roma must bounce back from their heart-breaking 3-2 loss to Udinese at the weekend. The match ended 3-2 in favour of Udinese when we predicted the match to end in a 2-2 draw. It was end-to-end football from Giallorossi, and they squandered a two goal lead, allowing Udinese to come back and win the game.

Roma trail fourth place Inter Milan by seven points in the league, and an away loss against Parma on Wednesday can see them give a leg up for the home team. However, Coach Zdenek Zeman will stick to his attacking principles and may name an unchanged side without for Panagiotis Tachtsidis, who was sent off against Udinese.

Parma are currently on a good run of form after registering back-to-back wins. They currently are two points behind Roma in the league with three wins, three draws and three loses. The Parma players usually setup themselves in a 3-5-2 formation and their style of play is not very far from Udinese’s. They are high on confidence after a 3-1 win against Torino last weekend.

Roma has a huge task at hand and a loss would mean a third straight defeat in all competitions. Lamella is now on level with the club’s leading scorer Osvaldo, and his brace against Udinese is just another indication of his ability. Roma defender Dodo was handed a start last weekend after spending 11 months on the sidelines due to injury and he might start from the bench for this fixture.

Roma were at the wrong end of refereeing decisions last week, and they will be expecting a fair result this week.

“Referees can have a bigger say on the outcome of games than the players,” Zeman claimed.

“We are missing seven points right now. Who is to blame? Ourselves, but also the match officials. Referees must be more alert.”

Parma coach Roberto Donadoni admitted it will be a tough match against the Giallorossi. He declared:

“Roma have some great attacking players. It will take a great effort by us to stop them, but I think my boys are ready and willing to show that the last two matches of ours have not been a fluke.”
