Top Primiera Liga games to watch this weekend

  • CD Santa Clara vs FC Porto: On Sunday, Santa Clara and Porto traded tackles for three Primeira Liga points in a fight between first and last place in the top division. The hosts are coming off a 2-1 setback at the hands of Belenenses last weekend. Nuno Pedro scored the game-winning goal in the third minute of injury time, after Allano's 90th-minute penalty had tied the game.

Relatively, Porto had to compromise and secure a point in the UEFA Champions League after a 1-1 draw away to AC Milan. Chancel Mbemba's own goal 16 minutes into the second half cancelled out Luis Diaz's first-half strike. The Dragons will return to domestic competition, where they presently lead the way at the top of the rankings with 26 points after 10 games. The upcoming game presents the visitors the perfect opportunity to avenge the 3-1 humbling they suffered against the host that resulted in their elimination from the Taca de Portugal.

  • Benfica vs Braga: Benfica will be seeking to get back to form in the league when they face Braga on Sunday. They were thrashed 5-2 away at Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, with in-form Robert Lewandowski scoring a hat-trick.

Braga, on the other hand, had a different fortune on the continent, winning 4-2 at home against Ludogorets in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday. Four different players scored for Os Arsenalistas.
