Zlatan Ibrahimovic will have one final chance to extend his legacy as Sweden's all-time top scorer with the national team when the striker makes the trip to play the upcoming World Cup Qualifying games for the Blagult.
The AC Milan footballer has been called up by coach Janne Andersson for the key matches against Georgia and Spain, with the latter being key to determine the team that will earn the right to book their tickets to play in Qatar next year.
As things stand, Sweden are two points ahead of Spain in Group B, and if they are capable of winning four out of the six points available, they will book their spot in the FIFA World Cup. With that in mind, coach Andersson revealed the reasons to call up Ibrahimovic after being on the sidelines for quite a bit due to an injury.
"His skills give us the chance to play a different kind of football. Added to that, his ability in front of goal and experience will surely come in handy for us," the Swedish coach stated.
Zlatan has scored 62 goals in 118 games for the Blagult, establishing himself as the team's all-time top scorer. This time, the footballer will try to lead the Swedish side to their thirteenth FIFA World Cup, and if he is included in the roster, he could be playing his third World Cup after a 16-year absence from the quadrennial competition.
